Definitions
Sample Coffee Library or SCL: a system in which the community around Sample Coffee can borrow and try items such as brewing items, magazines, books, etc.
Sample Coffee: Sample Coffee Roasters Pty Ltd, with headquarters in St Peters.
Member(s): an individual who participates and makes use of the Sample Coffee Library.

Liability Waiver
The items in the Sample Coffee Library are for the use of its Members. Out of respect for future users, please clean any items you borrow before returning them. Please report any damage to the SCL immediately. Though borrowers are responsible for damage that they have caused (we promise not to be angry, sh*t happens, after all). If you feel compelled to return them in better condition than when you borrowed them, that would be highly appreciated.
I, state that I am over 18 years of age and capable of using the items I am borrowing, and that I will use the items I am borrowing in a proper manner.
I, do hereby for myself, on behalf of my successors and assigns, in consideration of being permitted to borrow items, waive any and all claims against the SCL, its officers, agents, and employees for any injury or injuries of any nature that I may suffer or incur in the use of, or in any way connected with, the items that I am borrowing from the SCL.
I, hereby for myself, on behalf of my successors and assigns, in consideration of being permitted to borrow items, agree to release and indemnify and hold harmless the SCL, its officers, agents, and employees from any and all liability, loss, claims, and demands, actions or causes of action for the death or injury to any persons and for any property damage suffered or incurred by any person which arises or may arise or be occasioned in any way from the use of or in any way connected with, the items I am borrowing from the SCL.
I am aware that the SCL, its partners, directors, officers, Members, and employees claim no expertise and make no representation concerning the fitness of any items for any particular use. I affirm that the above information is current, true and correct and may be subject to verification

Registration and Membership
Registration and membership conditions
Members must be over the age of 18 to join the Sample Coffee Library (SCL).
Members must register online through the SCL website.
Membership requires the full acceptance of the Member Borrowing Rules & Item Use Policy and Liability Waiver and saving current credit card details as required through the SCL website.
Membership and borrowing entail some fees (i.e. security deposit, borrowing and late return fees) as set out in the relevant section below.
Membership types
Standard
Visitor: allows you to see the inventory, but not reserve.
Restrictions
Members are entitled to borrow items from SCL once registration is complete.
Borrowing and online reservation of items will be suspended if a member’s credit card is expired and fees can’t be processed. Full access will be reinstated once new details are provided.
SCL reserves the right to refuse to loan items to any person for any reason other than contrary to Australian legislation.
Ending the membership
When you request to close or withdraw your membership, the deposit fee will be refunded if all the conditions have been positively met.
Borrowing and Returns
When
The Return Date will be defined and outlined to the Members via e-mail upon processing and successful reservation.
SCL will be open for Members to borrow and return goods from the SCL Inventory (Items) within the times set out on the SCL website samplecoffee.myturn.com. These times are subject to change at SCL’s sole discretion.
Items may only be collected and returned during SCL’s stipulated opening hours.
In the case of a public holiday or special closure, the Return Day will be the next open day before 3pm.

Where
The SCL is based at the Sample Pro Shop in 1.03/75 Mary Street St Peters, 2044 NSW.
Items for return must be handed to any of the Sample staff so they acknowledge it and they can be stored safely.
Items not properly returned to the SCL on-site, during opening hours, by the Return Date will incur late or damage fees in accordance with the relevant section below.
Items must be returned clean and in good condition; otherwise, additional charges may be incurred as per the relevant section below.
Items, timeframe and renewals
Members may borrow up to 2 items per period.
One borrowing period is 2 weeks (14 days).
Items may be renewed up to 1 time (an additional borrowing period), making a maximum of 4 weeks.
Renewals may be requested through the SCL website, subject to demand by other Members.
Fees
Membership, security deposit and borrowing
The membership fee is $0, completed during registration.
A security deposit of $0 will be charged upon registration. The deposit is to be returned upon membership conclusion.
The general SCL borrowing fee is $5/period/item.
Some small items such as books and magazines may have a special borrowing fee of $2/period/item.
Late return fees
Members will be charged the following late fees for each item kept past the Return Date:
$5.00/day/item for the following 14 days past the Return Date.
When applicable, any difference against the item’s retail price as listed in our webshop (or the closest we can find if we don’t have it) if the item hasn’t been returned during the first 14 days past the Return Date plus an additional $20 ‘injury fee’ per item.
Loss or damage
Immediately upon request from SCL a Member must pay:
The cost of any item which, for whatever reason, is not returned to SCL;
The costs incurred in cleaning any items returned in an unclean state;
The full cost of repairing any damage to any item (not normally considered wear and tear);
The full cost of replacing the damaged item if repair is not possible;
All costs incurred by SCL in recovering possession of any items that may have not been been recovered after a reasonable time (including legal costs from a recovery agency and or legal action).
If the Member does not voluntarily pay as above, those costs will be charged automatically to their designated credit card. These cost will be defined by Sample Coffee, matching the retail prices in our webshop or the closest that honestly can be found in an alternative shop or service. By signing this agreement, the Member agrees to this and trusts Sample Coffee to the best of their abilities.
Others
All fees will be charged automatically through the SCL website and payment platform to the Member’s designated credit card.
Further borrowing is restricted until all overdue/late return items are returned or charged in full.
Item Availability
The SCL cannot guarantee that all reserved items will be available for collection - it depends on the collaboration of other SCL members returning them on time. We will endeavour to contact you as soon as we can if your reserved item(s) is unavailable.
Safe and Proper Use
Only registered Members are authorised to use SCL items. Members must not permit any items to be used by any other person unless with the express written permission of SCL. Members must not lend borrowed items to any other person.
Members must immediately discontinue use of an SCL item if it breaks or otherwise becomes unsafe.
Members must not attempt to repair or otherwise modify items.
If SCL staff identifies a need for you to borrow additional items related to your selected items, either for safety or effective use or any other reason, you must accept and comply with this advice.
Members are responsible for the following:
Determining that the item(s) are suitable for the member’s intended purpose.
Safe and lawful operation of the item(s) as per manufacturer’s instructions.
Use of personal protective items when required.
Thoroughly assessing hazard and risks before using the item(s).
Updates to This Document
The SCL will notify current Members of any changes to the Member Borrowing Rules & Item Use Policy. Policy updates apply to all item loans beginning after the notification date.
Privacy and Data Collection
By becoming a Member we may add you to our mailing list, from which you can easily unsubscribe anytime.
SCL will take all reasonable steps to protect Members’ personal information online.

By registering for Membership online and using the SCL web-based catalogue and payment gateway providers, Members are submitting personal data at their own risk. SCL is not liable for any breaches of Member’s privacy or abuse of Member’s personal information by any other party.
